ARTWORKS OF ALBA ARELLANO
COMISSIONS OF MURALS, OIL PAINTINGS, PASTELS, STILL LIVES AND PORTRAITS

I grew up in the artistic ambiance of oils, brushes and canvas, where I observed my mother painting. I became fascinated with painting years ago, however, once I started taking art classes,  my interests expanded into the use of different mediums. I love to capture fleeting moments with the emotion of daily life in my art. I like to photograph those moments and render them into my canvasses. The medium I most use is Oils but I find Pastels fascinating to work with. I do portraits, still lives, caricatures, animals and work directly with models or photographs as well as reproductions.

Biography:

Born in Colombia South America, I moved to New York, USA in my early 20s and live in the Northeast in Scarsdale,  a beautiful part of the world where the surrounding landscape inspires an affinity with nature. Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Now I'm taking workshops in different mediums: Pastels and Mixed Media, I created a small online gallery and website to showcase various portraits, still life’s, drawings and paintings, I had painted as a part-time hobby over the years. As interest in my work grew, art became my focus in life and I was able to make painting a full-time profession. Today, I'm delighted to have still life and portrait paintings hanging in private collections. Painting for a living is very much a dream come true, and one for which I am immensely grateful.
