As an artist I express myself creatively by producing art that identifies with human emotion, fantasy, inner human conflict, technology and past / present current events.
After graduating from St. John’s University in 1992 with a B.A. in Business and Marketing I fell in love with the genre of art known as “Outsider / Raw Art”…. art created untraditionally.
I choose my subjects by what delights and captures my imagination. I want my paintings and sculpture to tell a story. My process of creating art is my way of inscribing myself into the past that I wish to explore, as well as attempting to elevate my chosen imagery into a realm of the cherished and respected.
Painting and sculpture fills me with a sense of well-being and humility and has proven to be a satisfying way for me to translate my visual ideas into physical reality. I paint both what I see and what I feel----focusing on the sensation and context of my experience.
I work deliberately; employing both untraditional and innovative techniques while letting the uncertain nature of painting, free my hand. My paintings are finished when they are able to convey a moment or sensation of where I am, as well as what I am seeing.
