I graduated from Tyler School of Art, May of 2006, with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Illustration. I discovered painting to be my greatest passion while learning the different mediums used in the field and I have spent the last four years working on my skills. The majority of my work is created with acrylic paints on stretched canvas.
The style of my work is best suited for editorial and children's book illustration, or celebrity magazines that call for portraiture. I am drawn to the illustration field because as an artist for hire, the topic of your focus is always changing with the project. This allows me to create art while learning about different topics that otherwise I may never have encountered.
While starting my advertising campaign, I have been keeping busy painting for the Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia. For the past three months, I have been completing a contract to assist on a mural dedicated to Alex Scott of Alex's Lemonade Stand. While completing the painting for the wall we took time out of our schedule to work with kids seeking treatment at the Children's Hospital of Phladelphia as part of an art therapy team. We carved large wooden butterflies for them to paint that, upon completion of the mural, will be drilled to the fence surrounding the mural lot.
Everything I encounter is an inspiration to me and my work. Each piece I create and the concepts I involve in them is a part of myself. They are windows to my thinking methodology. I am an artist for life and I only hope to share my work with as large an audience as I can.
