Aurelia
  Aurelia

Born in Rome, Aurelia began painting, as a hobby, in her teens. When she applied for instruction at one of Rome’s leading art institutions, her talent was recognized immediately by the famous Italian master, Novella Parigini. Under the direct tutelage of Signora Parigini, Aurelia’s style was refined and she soon began showing her artwork at several well known galleries in Rome. Her work was also exhibited frequently at that city’s famous Colony Restaurant. In 1962, Aurelia married an American and gave up her art career to come to the U.S. and start a family. When her son entered school, she returned to her career once again, but with her time still limited, she worked by commission only. In 1979, Aurelia made a dramatic full-time re-entry into the world of contemporary art with her first American exhibition at New York’s famous North shore L’Endroit. Aurelia moved to Daytona Beach with aspirations of continuing her art career, her talent was shifted into another creative arena when she opened her first restaurant. Growing up in a large Italian family, Aurelia was at her mother’s side in the kitchen and applied her ancestor’s recipes with a few of her own and introduced Daytona to a very unique taste of Roman cooking. Aurelia’s artistic talent had transcended into all the dishes she prepared-truly works of art! Aurelia had maintained a loyal following with her painting and her culinary talent considering her customers more like family and friends. After thirty years of dedication to the community in the restaurant business, Aurelia has “Thrown in the apron”! Today she is back at the drawing board, fulfilling her desire to paint. The vibrant use of color is evident that Aurelia is enjoying the work she is producing and is now able to focus her energy full time on her art.

Grazie Mille! Aurelia
