| | Four San Diego artists were chosen as one of twelve selected Art Meets
Fashion teams to collaborate on this hugely exciting project. The work
is on exhibit from January through July 2011 in The San Diego
International Airport Art Program. This is the official website of Team
Beauty's Privilege, which walks you through our process from start to
finish. | International fashion designer, Gordana Gehlhausen (from Project Runway fame) and oil painter Tim Cantor (world- renown fine artist) are inspired to create works of art which express an emotional impression of loss, love, and ultimately- finding beauty in the midst of tragedy and adversity. We will explore the artistic process of cultivating nuances of artistic concepts into reality.
David Hartig (photographer) will document the various steps involved to nurture an idea into a work of art, including behind the scene photographs of the artistsin their studios and final images of the fashion on a live model. As an added component, Denise Bonaimo (educator/ visual artist) will create a lesson plan geared toward high school students, based on one specific technique utilized by Gehlhausen to create works of art from raw materials.
