paranoid. Imagining that everyone is out to get you is at least one way
to construct a world in which you matter. Much scarier is a world in
which no one is out to get you... Stylistically, this piece is a
conglomeration of influences.. The colors come from Degas, the skull
from O'Keeffe, the rest from Dada and Dali. Text: "your destiny is to
merge with infinity"/"We must agree on what matter: kissing in public
places, bacon sandwiches, disagreement, cutting-edge fashion,
literature, generosity, water, a more equitable distribution of the
world's resources, movies, music, freedom of thought, beauty, love."
Part of the reason this piece is so absurd is to contrast the simple
wisdom of the quote, which is from a zen calendar. | |
