ENSEMBLE POUR LE PRINTEMPS

PreviousVESTON DE LAINE 1909 Matching Robe à cocardesNext

Matching ensemble of jacket, dress, cloche and Easter basket make up this mid 1920's ensemble for your own darling Bleuette! Adapted from two LSDS patterns (1926,1909), this exquisite outfit is the perfect welcome to Spring and its many charms.
The dress- Robe a Gilet; My version was sewn mainly from a beautiful reproduction print cotton. This unusual pattern has a unique "William Morris" sense in color and shapes. The bib front was pleated tuxedo style and embroidered with pale rose silk thread. The bodice is embellished with three carved floral motif buttons. The closure is in the back with two small snaps.
The matching jacket was sewn from the same fabric as the bodice- a silk/rayon blend taffeta in seafoam green. The carefully tailored collar and cuffs are hand top-stitched with rose silk thread, as the hem and front edges are. I used the same silk thread to create hand worked button loops that close the front.
The matching cloche was made from Swiss Paglina hat braid; hand-dyed and formed on a mold of my own design. It is trimmed with silk daisies, straw rose buds, and embroidered bullion roses.
The basket of speckled eggs is trimmed with a silk ribbon bow of a delightful shade of purple. I achieved this color by dyeing with cochineal, with an over-dye of indigo. Perfect for an Easter basket!

So charming and feminine , this outfit is sure to make you swoon!!!

NOTE: doll, socks, and shoes are not included. Shoes and socks are sold separately.
