The early patterns for Bleuette from La Semainne de Suzette are especially intriguing to me; when there is little embellishment, you can always count on many complicated pattern pieces, and this one is no exception! You will love this little tailored coat with its smart, chic look for your *own* darling Bleuette!

I used a wonderful antique piece of silk...woven colored stripes on the front ( deep pumpkin, charcoal and silver) with just one color (antique white) woven on the back The back is partially lined with gold silk dupionni. The contrast fabric on the collar and cuffs is hand dyed silk taffeta in a warm pumpkin orange; very beautiful and unique. The lines formed by the many tailored pieces is extraordinary. Some of the many fine details include two piece sleeves set in by hand, pocket welt, silk thread top-stitched panels (front and back) and a two piece center back flap that is trimmed with two of the Czech glass buttons that also close the front.

Her dress underneath is also a LSDS pattern. From 1911, this Robe d'été is a simplified version without the embroidery but with a pleated tuck in the center front panel. This darling kimono sleeved dress was made from hand dyed silk taffeta. It closes in the back with one metal snap.

The matching hat is of Swiss Paglina hat braid. A hand dyed stripe of chocolate brown accents the brim edge. The hat is unlined and trimmed with matching silk with a fringed bow at the back. I finish my hats with the Bluebird Textiles label.

So charming and feminine , this outfit is sure to make you swoon!!! Buy with confidence when considering my designs. You will be delighted with the quality of my materials and workmanship. -Kathy O'Malley

NOTE: doll and socks are not included .

Orange isn't one of my favorite colors and yet I love the soft orange in this outfit! The subtle stripes in the orange dress fabric blend so well with the stripes in the antique silk fabric in the coat. The cut of this coat is beautiful and the combination of coat and dress is perfect. Her hat is wonderful, softened with the orange silk trim. What a lovely autumn outfit!
