What could be more jaunty and playful than the classic sailor suit? Your *own* darling Bleuette will look très charmant in this all linen summer ensemble.
Using the La Semaine De Suzette pattern of 1919, Costume Marin, I created this sailor suit from 100% linen in a medium weight- perfect for a crisp suit. The contrasting soutache trim is Austrian made of cotton. Many meticulous details went into the creation of this garment and include tiny brass eyelets for the narrow silk ribbon tie, silk facings, and a hand embroidered anchor. The blouse is pull-over and the plastron closes with a hidden metal snap.
Her matching straw boater was made on a form of my own design. Unlined, it is embellished with a soutache trimmed linen band, and a black bow of cotton/linen. I finish my hats with the Bluebird Textiles label.
A perfectly delightful ensemble- fit to spoil the finest of dolls!
