Cut out pattern pieces-What! No pins?

I'm using the L.S.D.S. coat pattern from 1956. This seems like a good choice because there are no gathers, and the sleeves can be set in by machine. For the hat I'm using Martha Nichols' "sou'ester pattern.
I was worried about how pins would take to this fabric. So far its been a non-issue because
 A) The tracing paper pattern pieces stick right to the rubbery surface like magic.
 B) The fabric (when placed right sides together) wants to stick to itself. Built in basting! So the rubbery quality has its benefits. It has its drawbacks too. Its un-pressable.
