You will marvel at the perfect selections of fabric and fine detailing of this classic little uniform. It is a wonderful way to showcase your *own* darling Bleuette's noble endeavors! My version of the 1919 LSDS classic Costume de Girl Scout was constructed from three different textiles-chosen for authenticity in color and texture. The blouse is 100% linen; the hat 100% wool loden; the jacket and skirt are undetermined. My HOT iron tells me that it's wool (summer weight worsted?). But a burn test proves otherwise. I'm guessing that it is *mostly* wool with a finish or part polyester. Whatever the fabric content is, it is a delightful color, weave, and texture for a scout uniform! The linen blouse has a patch pocket and metal snap closure. A red silk tie falls over the pleated front. The skirt fastens at the waistband with a snap. The coat closes with the belt-graced with two wooden buttons and hidden snaps underneath. Bleuette's scout patches are silk and hand sewn to the jacket. Beautiful materials and expert craftswomanship combine to make this an all-time classic! NOTE: doll, socks, and shoes are not included. |
