Three separate pieces combine to make a perfect autumn traveling suit for your *own* darling bleuette! I used two different shades of rich blue wool crepe to construct this cape from the LSDS pattern "Cape de voyage ou de plage 1914" . This charming style looks neat, elegant and warm. The edges have been embelished with naturally dyed silk ribbon, and then hand embroidered with feather stitch. The back of the collar forms a point and is graced with a matching tassel. The cape is fully lined with silk *charmeause* in silver/gray. Its a beautiful and luxurious touch. It closes at the neck with an antique button from France. It is glass with a silver and truly unique with its patterned filigree. The matching dress is a medium weight cotton satin-face twill. With just the right amount of luster, it makes the perfect accompaniment to a travel cloak. I finished the bottom end with wool crepe bias binding, and closed the back with two metal hooks and hand-worked eyes. Bleuette's matching chapeau is made from hand dyed Swiss hat braid. I used contrasting stripes to echo the colors of the dress and cloak. It is unlined and trimmed with vintage forget-me-nots, paper carnations, and a silk ribbon bow. I finish it with my own couture label. Absolutely charming in color, style, and finishing details! NOTE: doll, socks and shoes are not included . Buy with confidence when considering my designs! You will be delighted with the quality of my work. ~Kathy O'Malley |
