WINTER COAT 1917

What a cheerful splash of color on a cold and gray winter's day! Your *own* charming Bleuette will stay cozy and warm in my adaptation of the LSDS pattern, Paletot dernière mode Béret en
drap. This translates to "fashionable coat and beret".

I used 100% wool in a luscious shade of lipstick pink. This lovely fabric is unusual in its shade of color; just slightly on the drab side-just enough to give it a wonderful vintage quality. I used a wool crepe in cream for the collar. It contrasts perfectly and I then added a row of hand embroidered chain stitch. The lining is a lustrous charcoal gray rayon taffeta. I used the same fabric to line the matching beret. The pom-poms are ecru in 100% wool and hidden metal snaps close the coat behind them.

As in the original fashion illustration, I have included a fluffy fur muff to keep her little hands warm. It is genuine; fashioned from a vintage fur collar.

And to keep a draft from her dainty neck- a silk dupioni scarf in antique white.

Absolutely charming in color, style, and finishing details!
