What a soft and cozy vision on a cold and windy winter's day! Your *own* charming Bleuette will be warm *and* elegant in my adaptation of the LSDS pattern, Costume de patinage 1918. This translates to skating costume, but also works exceptionally well as a cold weather matching suit! My version is constructed from 100% SILK suiting in burgundy and deep navy blue. The black/gray trim is a delightfully soft faux fur. The skirt closes in the back with a hook and thread eye; the jacket closes with Victorian etched glass button at the neck, a metal snap at the hem, and the self-fabric belt closes at the middle with a hook and eye. Her hat is lined with red silk taffeta, and trimmed with holiday greens,berries, and a natural dyed silk ribbon in a silvery gray. It is removable, if you choose to, after the holiday season! I finish my hats with the Bluebird Textiles couture label. This outfit is sans the skates, but I made a terrific pair of leather boots to match. The perfect shade of burgundy leather is top stitched with red silk thread, and buttons with antique opal glass set in sterling. It is a tiny but lovely detail to finish these winter boots.
