During the year of 1921, La Semaine De Suzette published three patterns for a country or peasant look. "Petite robe paysanne " for the dress, "Tablier de jardinage " for the apron, and "Bonnet de jardinage" for the hat. I combined them all for an utterly charming country ensemble. The dress was sewn from an unusual medium weight linen. In a luscious shade of caramel, the linen has been printed with a coppery floral motif. The sleeves and hemline have been embellished with moss green feather stitching. The back closes with two ladybug buttons and silk thread loops. The tablier (apron) is of a soft green printed with stems and berries(100% cotton). The bias binding is doupioni silk in antique white. The neck straps end with loops that cleverly fasten over the ladybug in the back. Carried in her front pocket is a hand finished handkerchief and three seed packets! To protect her pretty face from the sun, Bleuette wears a crisp sun bonnet, also edged with silk doupion, with silk ties. I finish the bonnet with my own couture label. So charming and feminine , this outfit is sure to make you swoon!!! Buy with confidence when considering my designs. You will be delighted with the quality of my materials and workmanship. -Kathy O'Malley NOTE: doll, socks, and shoes are not included . |
