End of the Day

1/20/24

2024!  This is my first painting of the year!  I am donating it to the Schack Arts Center H'Arts annual auction fundraiser.  This is the view from my house in Lowell which I have painted so many times I can't keep count.  Either in the background or as the central theme as this one is.  I hope you enjoy the painting and perhaps go to the H'Arts auction on March 9th!

LIfe on the River

10/27/23

It's a beautiful day in Everett overlooking the Snohomish River from my window.  We have lived here for over 40 years!  I have painted this scene so many times because i love it.  The river is my muse, kind of like Georgia O'Keefe and the Pedernal.  I have painted this scene in the background of my first works and later it has become central to several paintings.  I love changing up the colors, the bend, the trees  but it is always the Snohomish River.

Cowgirl BBQ purchases painting
I am happy to announce that the Cowgirl BBQ in Santa Fe, NM has purchased Miss Lori Lou Busts a Bronc for their art collection.  I first visited the Cowgirl BBQ in 1995 when it was only 2 years old and now they celebrate their 30th year in business!  Congratulations and thank you Patrick Lambert.

Dog days of Summer

Cowboy Boxer
Just relaxing during these hot summer days.  Haven't painted in a while but am gearing up to do some nocturne palouse paintings.  I love the palouse imagery so that's a good place to start.

Santa Fe Time

5/19/22

Santa Fe has been surrounded by horrendous fires but we are okay.  New Mexico is such a beautiful, inspiring state  it makes it very sad that some lovely areas are burning and people are losing their homes.  Hopefully rain will come soon and help the firefighters.  The spectacular monsoons typically arrive in July but here's hoping for some early ones!  Be well and safe out there!

When life throws you a punch

2/25/22

Okay, so every time I write in my blog its' always I'm going to consistent, I'm going to write something every week.  Good intentions, always, but sometimes you get side swiped by life.  My husband, Rob, has Parkinsons Disease beginning 10 years ago.  We have been dealing with it as well as we can but every day it is something different.  He is  a retired Union Carpenter of 35 years and his body is breaking down.  Part of what keeps him going is he wonderful ability to do carpentry and he is good at it.  But, just last week he had one rotator cuff surgery which went well but is hard on both of us.  He will need the 2nd shoulder done in about 5 months so here I am being a caretaker/giver.  Not what we planned but there we are.  So I am changing my website a bit and adding a sale gallery which mainly includes pieces that are remaining from the series I created it in.  I will put the original price and then what I would like to get for it.  If you really want something but don't like the price please send me a note and we can work something out.  Everything changes and we must go with the ebbs and flow of life.  Thanks for reading and being here.  All good things from me and Rob

I am still here and working, albeit slowly....I am going to participate in the Santa Fe Studio Tour this year which takes place in October.  I have decided to concentrate on my Days of the Dead women and girl portraits.  They are becoming more painterly as I go along so I'll keep you posted and hopefully remember to write in my blog!

Happy New Year 2021

1/4/21

After a long winters night, and a very long 2020 we have made it into 2021.  My painting has slowed down a bit but I am still here.  Thinking about new directions, new ideas for new works.  New beginnings to all of us!  Happy 2021!

A new sunny day

10/6/20

A beautiful sunny day to reflect past paintings and contemplate new ones.  I had painted this horse flying over the Taos Rio Grande gorge and didn't think it was finished or I might change it altogether.  I really like how the gorge is painted, I'm just not sure about the rest of it.  Any suggestions?
