Ubuntu (a philosophy seen as a traditional African concept): "A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed." ~Archbishop Desmond Tutu
I will be traveling to Africa this summer to do volunteer work in Mozambique and South Africa. I am selling copies of my paintings to raise money for this trip. In Mozambique I will be working with children at an orphanage, health center, and school. In South Africa I will be working with an HIV Aids orphanage organizing activities and helping out with various tasks. The money I raise will go towards my expenses (I have all of the funds I need for my expenses!) -- and extra money will be given to the organizations I am working with (now all the funds are going towards these organizations!). (more on page about africa)
*note: the paintings look better in real life than the photos of them on this site. The prices were decided on by multiplying the cost of printing them by three.
