Big things come in small packages

12/10/11

Hello ART Friends
Just a note to let you know I am showing at Wise Design in Everett this month. The show is a collection of lovely small pieces of art. Each small wonder is perfect for gifts to oneself, that special friend or family member. I have included in the show a series of watercolor landscapes, colorful paintings of old fashioned marbles, linocuts in black and white, as well as hand colored (including a few of my winter scenes), and my miniature hand sculpted guardian masks. There are a limited number of items in each category.  This is definitely a case of big treasures in very small packages, if I do say so myself, and I do.
I’ve also included some of my little peckers, all decked out in felt scarves for the holiday.

Wise Design is located at 2908 Wetmore Ave., just kitty corner from the previous location of: Janet Wold Art & the Corner Studio & Gallery. You can peek at some of the items on line at www.wisedesignz.com. Art Walk is next Saturday, December 17th, with shopping until 7pm. Wise is open  Tuesday – Saturday, starting at 10:AM. 425-259-2361

Thank you all so much, and very happy holidays to all my friends.
Janet Wold

August

  Monkey Business

Hello Art Friends and Friends of Art
This month the studio is on semi vacation mode. We just finished up painting the pianos for the City of Everett's "Street Tunes" program. The 11 pianos are now out on the street waiting to be enjoyed by all. Printable map is at the city website, and the story/photos can be seen on the Herald website of August3rd.
My hubby is having surgery this week and that means I will be closed for a few days then, in and out of the studio in short spurts for the next couple of weeks. I also have a few commission pieces to finish up, so I may have to hide out in order to get them finished on time. But please know if you are wanting to make a purchase or pick up a purchase I am only minutes away and can meet you at the studio when you call and make an appointment. 425-231-3815

Spring Show

Corner Studio and Gallery and Janet Wold Art present their first group show of the season.
The new March Show is appropriately titled, “Spring” with the show emphasis on the return of our favorite birds. The show will feature songbirds, lovebirds, small pond & field birds, and backyard squawkers. With more then 25 regional artists participating, the mediums and styles run the gauntlet.  There are paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolors, as well as mono prints, hand colored etchings, and encaustics. For those who love 3 dimensional works, there are sculptures of birds in enamel, wire & glass nests, ceramic mixed media forms, and various birdhouses. We have jewelry artists in the show who have created special pieces for the spring theme: welded metal nests and winged pendants /pins, miniature wire nests filled with pearls and beads, necklaces and rings, and creations in natural stones, minerals and gems in bird designs and spring colors. There will also be beautiful cards, yard art, miniature birds and Janet’s little peckers.

The show opens March 9th, and will run through April 6th.

Happy New Year 2011

12/26/10

Hello Art Friends
As many of you know, Liz Lund is leaving the studio as a partner, but she will remain as a showing artists. Even though I knew from the onset that Liz was only going to be at the Corner Studio and Gallery  for 6 months, the time flew by so fast.  I will miss our weekly interactions and her smiling face.  We are happy to announce that sweet Liz is pregnant. The baby bump is already showing. She is going to be a busy gal with  work/family travel, and nursery things to catch up on in the next couple of months. I couldn't be more excited for her future as a mother, and artists. Liz and I  hope to create some new art projects together in the studio in 2011. Her positive energy is always welcome at the Corner Studio and Gallery. I will miss her.
