I completed a B.A. at Central St. Martins College of Art. London in 1989. My life history has been extremely diverse, I have experienced wonderful and difficult soul-searching experiences during many thought provoking adventures.
I lived in London for ten years and spent six years on the road. I then settled in Cornwall, where I began walking my dog, Waboose, on Gwithian beach each day. This was the beginning of an obsessive need to clear marine plastics from the shorelines. It led me on a journey to find a solution to the inner turmoil I used to feel as a child. I have recently completed an M.A. in Fine Art: Contemporary Practice at University College Falmouth.
The cultural conditioning of today lacks any cosmic, or transpersonal dimension and its underlying principles of manic plastic production and consumption, maximum energy flow, waste and greed, threaten the whole oceans ecosystem. The ocean inhabitants are our innocent relatives who suffer in silence due to societies unthinking toxic addiction.
ART...GeorginaMaxwell's art...compeling ...contemporary eco-marine artist... more awareness of the environmental catastrophe of plastic pollution in the oceans and the devastating effect this is having on marine wildlife and their ecosystems.
