...Clean human hair and animal fur were being stuffed into nylon stockings to make booms. These are much more effective than the non-biodegradable, standard synthetic booms which, after all, are made of oil and therefore not having the ability to soak up this mess as easily. The most interesting fact is that the natural hair/fur can be used up to 100 times and when spent, are given to worms that eat the oily hair and produce compost.
