The beauty of editorial illustration is when the art and concept come together. By using the word editorial, it means an opinion, a statement, something more then just stating a fact; more importantly what we think about the fact.
The editorial illustrator must be able to make a visual comment about the story or compliment the opinion of the person writing it. This can be done literally, figurative or with a caricature.
There's a certain excitement and energy that goes into the challenge of editorial illustration because you are trying to visually give an opinion or express appreciation on a topic.
