My Second Blog Candy Give Away!! Woo-hoo!!

I had so much fun hosting the first one that I’m just too excited to do this again! :)

For those of you who entered my first Blog Candy Give Away, you may recall that the winner received the “Summer Sundae” authentic print signed by me, a Certificate of Authenticity plus one of the beautiful stamps from the fabulous Whiff of Joy stamping company.

This Blog Candy Give Away will be similar but with a few minor differences. Here is what the winner will receive:

• The gorgeous unmounted “Melinda Christmas Angel” stamp from the Whiff of Joy Guardian Angel Collection (she is actually one of my favourites!) provided by the very generous and my good friend Katharina Frei of Whiff of Joy.
• A signed, 9.5 x 11 inch "Christmas Vesper" authentic print on high quality water color paper with Certificate of Authenticity.
• And last but not least, the winner will have their name personalized on the image!

To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment under this blog and tell me where you are from and why you like stamping. This competition will close next Sunday 19^th October at midnight, Arizona time. The winner will be announced next week on Monday 20^th October at noon.

To decipher who the lucky winner will be, this time, I will put all the names in a hat and draw out the winner’s name. This will not only be unbiased, but it will also give poor hubby a break from judging! Hehe

Happy Fall Everyone!

There are so many invaluable perks to living in Arizona. For a sun lover like myself, one of the main ones treats for me is the weather! When most of the country is already suffering from the onset of fall or winter’s cold, people here in “Cactus Country” are still walking around in shorts and tee-shirts out-doors!

But, to celebrate the beautiful seasons of Mother Nature, the cold has finally started to make itself known here (atleast to MY bones), especially at night. It seems that only in the past couple of days has the temperature suddenly dropped. Last night I had to sleep with an EXTRA blanket on! Woah! And this morning the house was at 69 degrees (*brrrrr*) that for the first time since March, I turned the heater on! Of course, hubby wasn’t home. He’s much heavier built than I am so I’m glad he wasn’t around to complain about the warmer temperatures inside the house today. Ha ha!

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend! I have a couple of exciting things to share with you today. The first is you finally get to see some Halloween SASS up today! Woot! You will find two images in the SASS gallery.

Uh-oh. Life is hectic again (um, when is it NEVER hectic? Lol).

Which means there won't be any SASS this week. Sorry everyone. :( I'm battling with time and need to grind out images to my favourite stamping companies! Hee-hee

But this only means there will be more stamps for you to play with soon! :)

I did have some inspirational ideas that I want to work on. Imagine the following illustrations for nextweek's Halloween SASS:

Can you picture them? Those fabulous ideas were contributed by my hubby, the covert creative genius!

Wow, it’s GREAT to be back!!

Needless to say, I’ve SO much to catch up on!

First thing’s first, a super big thank you to each of you for your fantastic words of support and encouragement while I’ve been away from my site. Donalda and Rach especially, thank you for your kindness. You ALL mean so much to me and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your big hearts!!

There has been SO much happening since I’ve been away and I wanted to share some of the latest exciting news! Whiff of Joy Stamps will be releasing the next new range of images on October 4^th, 2008. From where I sit, that is tomorrow!! For you lucky ones on the other side of the International Date Line, the 4^th is nigh upon you!! You Lucky Ducks!! Ooohh, I can’t wait!! *bouncing off ceiling and floors with excitement and somehow missing the kids*

There are a number of gorgeous images created by both Alison and myself, and I hope you get much, much enjoyment out of them all!!

And a big congratulations to Brocéliane, who has won the next 5 stamps from the Whiff of Joy Collection! Woo-hoo! You go girl!! Check out Katharina’s exciting blog to see details!

Isn’t this card creation DIVINE? This gorgeous, sumptuous card was created none other than by the FABulously, absurdly talented Camilla!! Wow! Camilla truly has a flair for designing and colouring! I am forever gob smacked when I see her work and the other creations by all the DT members!

This adorable Guardian Angel happens to be part of the exciting new, upcoming stamp releases from Whiff of Joy Stamps. I personally love this particular image from Whiff of Joy Stamps (yes, it’s made it into my personal hall of favourites) and I really had a ton of fun illustrating it. But it just goes with the territory, creating images for Katharina is truly a joy – a whiff of joy! Heehee. I hope you enjoy this delightful little Christmas Angel as much as I love her. :)

Today has been another busy day for me. I have been preparing to create a faux stone wall mural for a friend of mine and actually commenced the painting this afternoon. So far so good, though I'm a little nervous (being a terrible perfectionist) and hope the result will be super stunning. :) I will post pics of it when I'm done.

Oh, and this is a little something I created for my newest niece Brooklyn Nichole Bell who was born just a few days ago. Big Congratulations to their little family! You have probably seen another version of this image on my site. I just played around with the colours on Photoshop to match the colour scheme in Brooklyn's nursery. The Bell clan are so excited for her arrival and I hope to see little Brooklyn in person this coming weekend!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

It’s uncanny how October is almost upon us! I can’t believe that this year is almost at an end! Not to mention that the most exciting holidays are coming up – Halloween, Harvest, Thanksgiving and Christmas!!

I love all these holidays towards the end of the year. Thanksgiving and Christmas fall into my favourites. I love what each holiday commemorates and the wonderful spirit that falls around these times of the year. But my absolute, hands down fave holiday is Christmas!

 Last year I was preparing to have our third baby who was due towards the end of November, so we put all our Christmas decorations up at the beginning of October, lol! Being already so heavy with child I was avid on planning everything to the last iota. I can’t begin to tell you how nesty I was too, haha! So Christmas went up BEFORE Halloween and Thanksgiving, and we enjoyed a full three months of merry, yuletide festivity! This year we’ll probably put Christmas up directly after Thanksgiving. But who knows, I might change my mind and throw it all up at the beginning of October again, heehee!

This week has been super crazy for my family. You can probably tell something has been afoot lately with the lack of activity here on my site. My sweet hubby recently had surgery so I’ve been holding down the home front and taking care of my  4 kids – our three kidlets PLUS hubby, LOL. Bless his heart, he is recovering wonderfully. I’ve pretty much had it up to my ears and over my head with changing diapers all by myself! :P

So yesterday I was able to get away for a bit and create some Christmas SASS images. There are 3 in total for you to look at today. They are:

Oooohh, have you seen the latest Whiff of Joy Sneaky Peeks on Katharina’s blog? Those boy images are gorgeous (if I do say so myself, hehe)! I’m terribly excited for the next release of stamps from Whiff of Joy Stamps - which will be October 4th, 2008!

So make sure you pen that date on your calendars, because the rush might be a little mad! ;)

You probably know this already, but Katharina truly is a genius. The stamps which you have seen through Whiff of Joy are all HER ideas! She gives me an idea and I draw them up according to her vision. Isn’t she amazing?? She truly is the imaginative power behind the visual concept!

Apart from running our home as the “single parent” this week, I’ve also been doing more drawings for Whiff of Joy Stamps, Sugar Nellie and a logo for a company here in the States. I mentioned recently that I would be working on a wall mural and that will actually be taking place NEXT week due to all the drama that’s been happening around here.

So much work. And Drama. Drama. Drama. LOL.

Due to the heavy work load I am currently experiencing, I have decided to put Designer Spotlight on hold until further notice. I’m sad to put this on the back burner because there are sooo many incredible designers out there I would love to showcase. But I feel that when I can devote my energy more fully towards this, the Spotlight will be more enjoyable for all of us. :)

Omigoodness Gracious!!

Once again, another week has rolled by all too quickly. I have so enjoyed featuring Tiets stunning creations here as our Designer in the Spotlight this week. I was just looking through Tiets blog and noticed one of her latest designs includes the Jingle Bells stamp from Sugar Nellie’s Honey & Pip Christmas range. I just HAD to feature her fabulous design here tonight!

The soft, cool colours on the papers sport a true winter theme, and the lace stretching across the card reminds me of the delicate and intricate patterns on snowflakes. Even the flower is reminiscent of a delicate snowflake. The Christmas tree charm is the perfect accent and of course, Tiets colouring is downright adorable!
