Since I am a "self-taught" artist, I wanted to share where I got all of my information and inspiration from. All of these links have inspired me in some way or another.
http://www.wetcanvas.com This website is where I started learning to use colored pencil almost 1 year ago. They have an extensive photo reference library, forums in every medium, and tutorials on anything artistic you can think of. I've often posted my own work and received compliments, critiques, and encouragement from other artists.
http://www.hollybedrosian.com This great colored pencil artist keeps a blog and shares her teqhniques. She is a full time artist and her prices are appropriate. I just wish our economy were doing better so people could include fine art in their priorities. I found Holly on wetcanvas.com and I have made her my mentor/idol. I want to draw like her when I grow up.
http://www.myspace.com/jeromyallenrobison My brother, Jeromy is writing a novel, play, and musical score. I have been asked to illustrate the novel. Jeromy composes and uploads the music that will be included in the play to this website. As soon as I can get some work done, my art will also be uploaded to this site to compliment the beautiful music and give a sneak peak to some fascinating ideas that are included in the book.
A psychic/numerologist recently predicted that this book and Jeromy's music will be well known and lead to many sequals. This psychic volunteered this information while purchasing some herbs at Jeromy's day job. The following is a link to that psychic's webpage: http://www.beverlykay.com I've offered to trade services with her, but haven't received a reply. I hope I didn't offend her.
http://www.pandora.com I found the greatest free online radio made by the Music Genome project. By selecting a favorite song, your custom radio station then knows (through careful musical analysis) what other songs you would like. For example, my radio station "kiss me" is made up of accoustic instraments, a certain rythm and a slight harmonic vocals. So far, they haven't played a song I don't like and even played some old favorites I had forgotten about. You are able to make up to 100 custom radio stations for yourself and I guess there is a way to be social with other listeners. I haven't tried that. I just enjoy listening to the contstant stream of favorite songs while I'm drawing. My own playlists get old.
http://www.myspace.com/legacyphotobakersfield My old neighbor has started a photography business in Bakersfield, California. They take fabulous pictures and their work can be seen on this site.
