This Princess is Pooped!

7/11/11

(Large Wall Detail) Scrapbook Princess Mural, 2011

I was so motivated by this one that I pumped it out in only 6 work sessions! I love this piece because of all the bright colors and the fantastical subject matter. It really worked great for using my creativity! With all the texture and pattern, it is very fun to take in and keeps your eye moving around to every part of the room. Pink clouds give way to colorfully patterned birds sharing their home with a castle so far off in the distance it appears to be floating. With the royal carriage bringing the frog prince to visit, what could be better?

Enjoy Princess Jessica!

Scrapbook Princess Mural

Approved Sketch

I never knew I would be so excited to get to work on the mural for this little girl. It has been a while since I worked on a truly "girlie" space. On our initial consultation, I was surprised to see the walls were painted a shocking pink! But, what an awesome jumping off point. The family wanted something in the princess theme to fill the room. Or, should I say, they wanted everything in a princess theme! So, I did my best to give it to them. The idea for the "scrapbook" look came from the petite client herself. I wanted to give her something she could touch, experience, and interact with. In the end, she will have a life-sized princess as well as a horse and a frog prince at eye-level!

This mural is still in progress. So, check back to see the end result.
