  George Boone

I make my home now and was born in Houston, Texas. In addition to my interests in visual art, I am a songwriter and musician.

I use a variety of media and experiment with combinations of such things as papier-mache; paper pulp, broken glass, bold vibrant color, varnish and high gloss to capture a surface that is sculptured and three-dimensional. Acrylic paint, charcoal, pen, pencil and oil pastels are used to define and detail on paper, canvas, wood and other surfaces.

Both art and music captured my interest at a very young age as a unique means of expression for what most people might consider mundane everyday objects, those maybe not worthy of a second look. I discovered I could cultivate these new-found talents and translate those moments into something that was tangible and permanent.

My artistic style is precise and detailed at times, instills movement through combinations of lines, shading, and color change. Much like a photographer duplicates what is seen through the lens, I am compelled to express these concepts by way of various parts of reality and distortion. I am challenged by close inspection and intricate parts of things. My work is abstract and diverse showing bits of impressionism, realism, and expressionism.
