Born and raised in Switzerland.
I always loved to draw and paint but becoming a scientist
and mother was more important to me. Following my husband’s career to the US
and raising a child with severe health issues prevented me from building a
career in the sciences for myself. I started to paint and draw and it has been
my passion ever since. Creating art helps me cope with my daughter’s illness – for
a while I can sink into a world of my own and forget everything around me.
The human body fascinates me and I am curious about people’s
stories, their inner lives and what drives them. My main
focus is the human portrait. I work to capture both the uniqueness and the
personality of the subject. My painting style is realistic and my work is
based on a combination of photographs I have taken and pictures of other
sources. I think of my work as a celebration of life and I want it to be
beautiful.
