If you are a poet, you will see clearly that there is a cloud floating in this sheet of paper… Your mind is in here and mine also… You cannot point out one thing that is not here… As thin as this piece of paper is, it contains everything in the universe in it.
-Thich Nhat Hahn
My work is about capturing the genuine experience of the present moment; the moment between inhaling and exhaling - when something is no longer what it was, and not yet what it will be. I work intuitively to capture the paradox that exists in the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of life. When successful, each piece contains these dualities and is imbued with a life or presence of its own. As a medium, I most often choose printmaking because of its immediacy and the diversity of processes that it offers.
