I have always loved the world of creating- whether painting, sculpture, writing, sewing, crafts or jewelry. I am inspired in my jewelry in the search for different, unique materials. From stones that look like painted landscapes, to shards of prehispanic pottery, to the colors of agatized dinosaur bone, to the incredible etched patterns of meteorites, jewelry can be more than meets the eye. Wearing around your neck a piece of nature millions of years old, or even older than planet earth itself, not only inspires and boggles the mind, it also serves as a reminder of how tiny we are in the grand sceme of time and space. I combine these materials with the colors of turquoise, amber, opals, rubies and other stones to create pieces that can be both playful and elegant. |
