She is colorful, dynamic and innovative! With 20 plus years entailing her Fine Art, Art Therapy and branding experience. Jackie Ruka inspires the average person to express themselves in a fun, safe and playful manner by getting creative. Before you know it, you’re embarking on a journey, creating a masterpiece you never thought possible.

Although she learned about art  at a young age while going on field trips to the MET in NY, as well as  observing her interior decorator Mom and fashion designer Aunt. It was her first formal painting class at age 8, full of fear that she was unable to “paint a pretty picture”, that she became so immersed in the creative process, painting was just plain fun. Jackie recognized how we all have our own style and fingerprint that is unique, as are pieces of art. Her experience as a young artist led her to her passion toward inspiring others with the fun and playful side of themselves through creating art.

Jackie has well over 2000 hours of workshop experience, included in her profession as an Art Therapist. As a seasoned professional, working with autistic and mentally challenged children, the mentally-ill, substance abuser, geriatrics and high functioning adults, she has observed the value with the use of art as being a safe haven for expression and the healing benefits as a consequence. 

Jackie’s knowledge in understanding color, space, placement, art mediums and aesthetics parlayed toward her own personal attention to art and décor when she became a first time home buyer in Carlsbad, CA. She created focal points in the bedroom, over her fireplace and filled the sparse walls. This prompted her workshops; Jackie facilitates and brings forth people’s visions and inspirations for creating their own masterpieces. A recent client, Sarah G. was inspired by a colorful, organic painting she saw on a gallery website and shared with Jackie her thoughts of the painting that she “would love to have in her home.”  Through clever techniques and a playful process, Sarah now has a gorgeous 36x 36 rendition painting hanging over her fireplace that she created.  Sarah said,” My husband just got home and couldn’t believe I painted that picture, it’s just so cool. The first session, after that fabulously freeing and motivational "color" meditation, was such a pleasant surprise.  I was so relaxed going into the color mixing process and able to really focus on the colors I needed to create in order to approximate the original. Thank you so much for your coaching and assistance.”

When Jackie is not running workshops, she is  writing her first book On Inspiring Your Creative Groove with original Art Recipes. Jackie is currently developing one of kind decorative spirit boxes, custom pillows and a color meditation CD. In addition to writing her first book she is available as a Guestpert on personal growth, wellness, decor, and fine art.
