| As you know (or if you didn't) I did a show in the lower east side this month at the JujoMukti Tea Lounge. I love exposing my art every chance I get but this group show in particular was everything i love to hate about the art scene. Sitting by my art work and being the only artist of color in the show I was asked MULTIPLE times if I was a manager or worked for the establishment. Out of pure entertainment i said simply "Yes, how can I help you?" I mean what would a black chick be doing at an art opening? It was funny when they realized I was actually the artist of the paintings they were just admiring as I gave them my card later that night. Other than the pretentious art snobs it was a very cool show. It's up until Oct. 1st. So if you haven't seen my work in person please go check it out.
