January 7th through January 24th, 2010, 287 Spring Street, NY, NY.

In an attempt to give more time for the artists to show their work and to promote Essential, I and the organizer of Essential agreed to use the law offices of Ilya Fridman to display one piece of art from each participating artist in Essential. I am curating this show as well. 287 Spring is an open, expansive space with large white walls begging to show artwork. The light spills into the large room from the floor to ceiling windows that run the whole front of the space. Fridman agrees to continue to show artwork out of complete benevolence. Look for more exciting shows from this location.

September 1st to October 31st, 2009

George Bruce Branch, NYPL, 518 West 125th Street, NYC

I have about 12 paintings up in this high traffic public venue. It is a solo show of my recent work of 2009. I had a great impromtu reception when I hung it by a gathering group of young people that live in the immediate area of the library. Many of the trains in the paintings go through their neighborhood(125th Street west of Morningside). They were very warm and welcoming saying they would like to buy one and picking their favorites. It made me feel really good.

August 1st through August 31st, 2009. Reception August 11th, 6pm to 8pm.

Uptown Art Show, New York Public Library, Harlem Branch, 9 West 124th Street, NYC.
This is a show of my oil paintings from 2009. All of the paintings are of New York City. Works include scenes from the subways, parks and city architecture. I will have an artist talk from 6:30 to 7pm, with questions and answers. There will be refreshments. There will be a interperative dance perfomance by Caroline Cho and Aparna Reddy-Sargent at 7:15pm inspired by the subways. The paintings  will be on display for the entire month of August.

May 15th, 2009, 116 Avenue C, Manhattan

This is a solo show of my new paintings from late Winter/early Spring, 2009. The paintings include mostly scenes from the subway and streets of New York City. Accompanying this show is Dj music from Lava Gina's World and Latin music. There will also be a beautiful full bar and a dance show by Jasmine. The venue is located between 7th and 8th Streets. Doors open at 8pm. No cover, 21 plus.

March 19th, 2009, The Gallery Bar, 120 Orchard Street, Manhattan. This is a solo show of my new paintings since January, 09. I will have about eight paintings and eight or nine drawings. There will be a DJ, dancing, performances and a full bar. We will partying and checking out my new work! The night starts at 8pm and will close around 3am. Free admission!

February through March, 2009. The Capital Rep Theater, ALbany, NY. A group of brand new to really old paintings are on display in this artful theater. The theater is on North Pearl Street near the 787 on ramp. It is a solo show of my work including about nine paintings ranging from 1994 to 2009.

November 22nd, 2008, Albany Center Gallery, "Too Marvelous for Words", 575 Broadway, Albany, NY.
I will be contributing one piece, the "EMMA" painting of my ballerina from Cirque de la Nocturne. This is a great annual galla event with more well known artists participating.

September Fifth, 2008, Trinity Church Concert Hall, Lark Street, Albany New York, 2nd Anniversary Ball for First Friday Art Night, Treatise of the Steppenwolf I will be involved with the production of an event based on the novel Steppenwolf, by Herman Hesse. I had the idea to base an event on the Masquerade Ball in this novel back in 2005 when I first read it. I was in SF at the time and just didn't get it together to do it. Now I have Cirque de la Nocturne and am ready to do it. This event is a perfect occasion. We will have our performers dressed in 20s apparell, with other figures from the novel in costume and in character. It will be a multi cultural and original event. We will have a show of art based on the Eastern Philosophies explored in Hesse's work. I will have at least one painting in that show. We will also have a traditional Tibetan Budhist dance performance.

August First, 2008, Lionheart Pub, Albany, New York, First Friday UAG Event Myself and two other artists are showing for the first First Friday at the Lionheart Pub. I will have four new works and four old ones. Two are at least twelve years old. They fit in though with the paintings I am doing now. I am glad. I like them all together. There are changes, my paintings are more crisp now but are running the risk of being contrived. I avoid that at all costs and try and stay loose as well and respond to the paintings. Maybe I am more balanced now. I am looking forward to having this many paintings in a show with multiple larger sized pieces.

Our first Event of 2008 will be a benefit for the Upstate Artist Guild.  Thursday, February 28th, 5pm to 10pm. Envy Lounge, 57 North Pearl. It will be artist helping artists! Envy Lounge is generously hosting this evening of delicious food, great art from the UAG and of course our wonderful performers of Cirque de la Nocturne. The evening begins with delicious finger food from the chefs of Envy and drink specials will keep the party going into the night. The silent auction will begin when the doors open at 5pm. After our happy hour of food and drink comes into the evening at 730pm, we will witness the performances from our troupe de la nocturne. Which will include ballet, Arabic belly dancing, and cabaret.

September, 2007, Hudson Arts Walk, Warren Street, Hudson,  New York. I had "the Carolina House", oil on canvas, 20 by 30 inches, in this street long art show. It sold the opening night. I was excited.

Saturday, September 9th, Chatham, New York A group show organized by the CCCA, Columbia County Council of the Arts, which is set in a rustic setting outside, near the old Rider's Mills School House. This school house is a one room school house from the 19th century and is fully restored. Its really quaint.

Thursday May 18th, through July 1st, 2006. 2134 Polk Street at Broadway, San Francisco. This is a very ecclectic group show. No real theme except we are all local. I have about eight nightclub paintings and two city scapes and the playground painting I call "Recess". The opening was a huge success I sold a cityscape I call "SF Fog". A guy who walked in off the street saw it and loved it. I was psyched. Nice guy too, so I know it will have a good home. I also lined up my next show. I will post the exact date and location.

Thursday, March 9th, 2006 7pm-10pm
Mara's Salon, 112 Gough Street, San Francisco
I am having a solo show at this very nice salon in Hayes Valley. There will be complimentary wine and beer and a DJ. I will have recent paintings from 2004-2006. I would really appreciate your support. Its going to be a great time. Last month this salon, Mara's, had a similar reception and the place was really jamming. It is the beginning of a great and artful scene. I am happy to be a part of it.

The neighborhood is a lot of fun. It will give you an excuse to go out see some new art by yours truly and enjoy an evening in Hayes Valley. There are some nice restaurants in the neighborhood also if you wanted to get a bite to eat. My suggestions are Sauce which is right across the street, or Thepin Thai at the corner of Gough and Fell. I hope to see you there. I am so excited to get my work out there. It is almost a year since I have had a show.
