My painting, Divine Androgyne, represents the union of
opposites, a state of pre-human being common in symbolism/religious
thought/myth. This union of man and woman existed before desire, before
guilt. The reunion of primordial forces directs us to the highest
levels of consciousness, oneness, acceptance and tolerance for our own
inner truth.
I found it to be critical to the issue at hand to explore my own
views of human sexuality by confronting our gender specific organs. I
believe a frank and honest discussion of our views and preconceptions
to be preferable to hiding the issue (or the painting) and I appreciate
the opportunity to contribute to that discussion.
