Kameelah Toby is a young, creative urban focused self-taught freelance fine artist and graphic designer. Ms Toby's artistic abilities consist of talents and skills that touch all areas of the art and music industry such as: graphic design, fine art, fashion design, creative writing, book binding, video editing, photography, custom framing and the list goes on. As you can see Kameelah is more than a tripple threat.
Kameelah's interest and love for art blossomed at an early age. She noticed her interest developing while attending elementary school. Her family will contest that Kameelah spent many hours, doodling and drawing on her old homework handouts and inside her notebooks. Ms Toby was reprimanded several times all through elementary and middle school for not paying attention, but drawing instead. Now she does an excellent job paying attention to detail. Some of her early creations were of cartoon characters and objects that she noticed. During this time her family had no idea of her gift. Kameelah admits to not realizing and taking her gift serious until her junior year in high school and attending Moore College Of Art and Design despite attending several advanced art classes in high school. Kameelah's perspective of art is that, it's something that play's an important role in her life because it gives her fulfillment. Kameelah's photo-realistic style of portraiture is highly inspired by the works of Norman Rockwell, Rico Thompson, Larry(Kapp), Sameul Bird, Ron Stephens and Simmie Knox. She considers herself a "good visual artist with a love for realism". The gift she possess not just being able to draw or paint but being able to recreate what she see in front her or inside her mind and making it possible for other people to see her visions. Or just being able to bring to life someone else's ideas. She goes on by stating, Life is filled with obstacles. Some face more adversity than others. Life is what you make it, and besides our creator we control our own destiny. Art and music have always been apart of me, it's therapeutic. It redirected me as a young adult keeping me from risky behavior helping me stay focused. If I don't know nothing I know that time only better you!
Kameelah freelanced while working with underprivileged inner city youths through a non-profit agency serving as a Art Specialist, giving youths the opportunities they deserve in realizing and enhancing their own artistic abilities. Kameelah has done countless work for people all over including celebrities such as Allen Iverson, Dawn Staley, Benard Hopkins and more.
