I earned a B.A. in fine arts from Gordon College, with a concentration in painting. During my time there, I became very interested in three dimensional work, mixed media and community and liturgical arts. I've enjoyed working on multiple collaborative liturgical arts projects, and community arts organizational efforts in the past, and hope to tie these areas together with my pursuit of high art in the future.
Currently, I am exploring the intersection of art and faith, and how this intersection might create unique opportunities for truth and beauty in liturgy, community organizing, and of course fine arts. I work with paint, wood, cloth, ceramic and metal leaf.
(in no particular order or categories)--I have been especially inspired by artists such as Makoto Fujimura, Edward Hopper, Johannes Vermeer, Kathe Kollwitz and Louise Nevelson. |
