K.Lee Mock recently graduated with her Masters of Elementary Education from Lesley University (2010) with an initial Massachusetts teaching license. She is a graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the University of New Hampshire (2008). She works primarily in oil and acrylic painting with her interests in movement, color, temperature and texture. Her approach to painting mimics her appeal to layering learning, both for her own connections and for others to make new connections. Since becoming a reiki practitioner, K.Lee also feels a sense of healing and spirituality in her work.

My current paintings challenge my idea of landscape to become more conceptual, experiential, and synthesized. I've been searching for answers to such questions as:

How does my experience with a landscape develop? How do I interact with a space? How does a sense of place change as I move through it. How are my new perceptions joined with old memories? When do I generalize these perceptions? How does my mood and energy effect my perception; will the outcome of my visualizations differ? What are the differences and similarities of an internal landscape with an external landscape?

This questioning has allowed me the freedom to paint in familiar places while continuously deepening my understanding. While painting, I open my "third-i"  to balance my intellectual, imaginative, and intuitive thinking.
