| | | Farm Road 605 | | | | Original oil on canvas, 14" x 18". Framed in white wood frame. Wired and ready to hang. In early 1992, I moved back to Texas with my family. After a new marriage, a baby, my child, two unexpected step-children, and three moves in one year, we decided the west coast was not for us. After coordinating two vehicles and trailers with CB radios and half the kids in each vehicle, it was late at night when we finally reached our destination: San Antonio. Well, early the next morning, hubby, a master mechanic, went to get a cup of coffee at the McDonalds across the street from the motel. He came back and said, "The truck's gone". I thought he was kidding but it was true. All his tools, our memories, and our livelyhood were gone. The truck and trailer were gone with the bulk of our possessions. And we had no household insurance. To make a long story short, we spent a month in San Antonio working with SAPD trying to locate our stuff and in so doing we ended up driving the country roads outside of San Antonio. We lived in a loaner trailer out there and we bought a rottie from a country kennel--the biggest pup they had. We eventually found the trailer and then the truck but never recouperated any of our stuff. We did make light of it, with the kids and all, enjoying what we had, the family and our time in the countryside. Farm Road 605 is a memory of many country roads we drove on while poking around keeping ourselves busy and having fun with the family during tough times. Oil, 14"x18", framed. FREE S&H in USA.
