Laura Hope was born and raised in San Diego. Ever since Laura was a child she had a passion for art and natural creative talent. It must have came from her well known family of architects. Laura attended San Diego Mesa College as an art major then transferred and moved to Oahu, Hawaii in 2002 to attend University of Hawaii Manoa, graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Art. Moved back to California to work and pursue art career. Moved back to Hawaii and worked as an art consultant for a few months only to return back to her hometown gorgeous San Diego.
Laura's inspiration comes from traveling and living near the ocean in southern California and Hawaii. Her artwork consists of a mix of mediums but are always colorful like her vivacious personality. Her artwork consists of anything from photography to acrylic painted landscapes to small scale sculptures to hand made silk scarves to abstract odd fiber art.
Laura's artwork has been displayed at various galleries such as the Commons Gallery in Hawaii, San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery, University of Hawaii Manoa Gallery, she has been in the Union Tribune newspaper for leading her team to win the Imperial Beach International Sand Castle Competition in 2002, was in published in the Ka Leo College newspaper for a painting, she has won various art competitions and contests such as a few on zhibit.org!
