"I swims in the Tagus all across at once, and I rides on an ass or a mule, and swears Portuguese, and have got a diarrhea and bites from the mosquitoes. But what of that? Comfort must not be expected by folks that go a pleasuring." Lord Byron

I'm a traveler. People ask me "was it fun?", "why do you go THERE?", "what are you running from?".  "No; why not; nothing", I respond. I go because it is like breathing, I have to. I have been to over 50 countries so far and only recently fell into the digital age of images. I don't document the trip, I take what grabs me. Some folks have liked my pictures, maybe they take them somewhere exotic, peaceful, funny. Or stimulate curiosity about another land, another people, another way of life.

Lao Tzu said,"Without stirring abroad, one can know the whole world; Without looking out of the window one can see the way of heaven. The further one goes the less one knows."  I agree. Not knowing is a relief for me and perhaps if I keep going, I shall eventually meet up with myself.  Travel opens our minds and our hearts, we can see how small and connected we are.  How very hard and beautiful it all is.  And how much we need each other.  That's what I hope my pictures say.
