I am very inspired by the textures of antiquity - bronze, brass, iron - and the surfaces' endurance through time. Corrosion is a record of longevity, but it's also a thing of beauty in its own right. This painting abstracts the idea by focusing on the textures and colors of ancient, decaying bronze, but it's also representational in its appearance.
