Nature & Art
Nature & Art 5/21/07

This weekend, I discovered that my home ss close to a huge park nestled between two water reservoirs. Of course, I had to bring along the sketch book. Walking around I found a spot where there was a twelve foot waterfall and a crane patiently waiting to catch his fish dinner. The crane stood on one leg, as stiff as the rocks surrounding him for at least an hour, which ironically is how long it took me to draw him. Nature provided me with the perfect black and white model, very graceful and elegant. If I were the crane, I would have toppled over into the water, giggling at my lack of balance. :) I am so greatful that there are a few places left in NY that are not over run by luxury condos and shopping malls. If we cherish and protect green paths, they will always provide us with a serene place to go and just draw. My new creative philosophy is, a sketch a day keeps the doctor away.
