About

Born in 1950, Lynda Hamilton contracted Polio when she was 10 years old, losing the use of both arms. When she was still a child, Lynda taught herself to draw with a pencil held in her mouth, and has since developed her own unique techniques for painting.

After completing high school and college, Lynda moved to San Diego and began volunteering at local schools.  Lynda co-founded the Artability Artist Association, a San Diego-based group of disabled artists who taught at the San Diego Rehabilitation Center.  Lynda uses a specially designed foot-steered car, which she uses to perform day-to-day activities, as well as to get around to shows and exhibitions. The freedom that the car provides allows Lynda to assist other artists in presenting their work to the public.

Lynda is a student member of the prestigious Mouth & Foot Painters Assn. and continues to work with the association to provide beautiful artwork that is used for cards and calendars.  Lynda also holds several annual local exhibits where she has won awards for her work.

She prefers watercolors although she has worked in both acrylics and oils.

In addition to her passion for art, Lynda also loves horses and is able to ride by tying the reins to the stirrups to guide the horse.
