As spring arrived, I've been traveling in and around Texas which is always exciting.  Why?  Because there's an adventure around every corner.  I’ve been traveling through our state and listening and learning from Texans from all walks of life. While we’re not immune to national economic trends, I'm struck by the ongoing vitality of Texas, in contrast to deteriorating economic times in other parts of the country and I’m always impressed by the optimism and pride of Texans everywhere. It’s clear that we’re doing a lot of things right in Texas: That’s why we’re growing, and that’s why people want to move here.

And for an artist, there's inspiration everywhere.  We have exciting festivals, historical attractions and the best birding in the nation. For a more relaxed setting, you can head to a small town, visit our beautiful state and national parks, and settle in at a country inn, dude ranch or quaint bed-and-breakfast. No matter what they’re looking for, you’ll find it right here in Texas.
