There are many things that we take for granted in life – sunset, moon rise, flower blooming. They happen all the time, but yet they do not stay for long. We see them all the time, but may not realize that every instance is unique. While it is impossible to capture everything in life, I would like to share with you some moments that make an impression, through images in my paintings.
It was a happy accident that I started painting. I used it as a tool to learn color theory. While I have always lived in a colorful world in a literal sense, I have never paid much attention to the varying colors before my eyes until I started painting. The same color shows itself differently as light changes. Moving water reflects the color around it. Our moods are affected by the color surrounding us, probably more than we realize. I have chosen painting as a way to express the impression that day-to-day images make. It is a much more painstakingly slow process in comparison to other media such as photography. However, the process helps me appreciate more of what is around me.
Hope you enjoy them.
