Marjorie Crawford with "Three Magic Crows and Blue Angel Wings"

About the Artist

Having a passion for art ever since I can remember, I formally studied studio arts, design and art history at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, Massachusetts, where I graduated in 1982. Following graduation, I exhibited my painting and collage work in and around the Boston area, chiefly at the Orphanos Gallery on Charles Street in the Back Bay area of Boston.

My art endeavors combined with a passion for art history eventually led me to a career with Universal Art Images in Sarasota, Florida, where I assumed the presidency in 1995 and directed the company as a leading provider of high quality products for teaching art history and art appreciation. Fortunately for me, this career included overseeing an inspiring database of images of great master paintings as well as art dating from Early Greek, Etruscan and Pre-Columbian times.

Ultimately, the constant desire to create through my hands and heart took over and after many years of working as a full time career woman and part time artist, I left the corporate world to concentrate fully on the creation of my own artwork, which includes painting, drawing, sketching and jewelry design.
