Maya Delano Ceramic Design |
My Father was a ceramic artist and Mom took me to museums around the world. In high school I started working for ceramic sculptor and art teacher, Coeleen Kiebert. http://www.coeleenkiebert.com Coeleen introduced me to Jungian psychology and the study of the Creative Process. I continued my ceramic studies at the University of Oregon with Sana Krusoe and George Kokis. After getting my degree, I apprenticed at Helen Slater Design http://www.helenslaterdesign.com Helen influenced how I express line and color on functional pottery. I have studied art in Japan and Mexico and spent a year as an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center, CA. My current work combines painting, ceramics and silkscreen.
