These photos are of a night out to see The Donald Washington Sextet featuring Robert Henderson on drums. This took place on Saturday, August 1st at Natalie's on 40th and Market, West Philadelphia. I had a great time photographing this group and enjoying the sounds they created. |

This benefit raised funds for Daphne Fifield, the wife of bassist and filmmaker Jason Fifield. Daphne has breast cancer. The money raised will also establish a permanent fund for women in the jazz and blues community who need assistance for gender-related crises. to donate, go to http://www.jazzbridge.org The Jazz Bridge Project helps jazz and blues musicians in need. The music was great and it all was for a great cause. |

Rebecca is a homeless 21 year old woman that is traveling the country with friends. She shares her life with her cat, Luficer. She originally named him Lucifer, but friends told her that's bad luck, so she changed his name. She was down to earth and other than not having a home, she was a nice person to converse with. |

This particular event brings veteran bassist Mike Boone and his group to The Moonstone Arts Center, Philadelphia, Pa. Along with him is Jim Holton on keyboard, Robert Henderson on drums, and Vince Tuirnbull on trumpet. Bassist Alex claffy brings along Jason Matthews on keys, and Douglas Marriner working the drum kit. |

This was a benefit/fundraiser for Saxophonist Odean Pope. Over the years, Odean had played and recorded with many people. Musicians wanted to help Odean through some struggling times with a benefit concert. People like poet Sonia Sanchez, saxophonist Reggie Workman, and saxophonist Walter Blanding showed up to represent.
