Sugar Buddies CARL MICHAEL PASCUZZI'S SUGAR BUDDIES. The photographs focus on a colorful sugar induced play date. A purposely exaggerated, over the top, "sugar trip." Pacuzzi's provocative photographs are a humorous portrayal of one "quick fix" remedy of life. Pascuzzi explains that "Consciously or not we use quick fix remedies to heal our anxieties, loneliness and empty feelings. When we call for a remedy, our easy going mind rushes for an effective solution that could come in a strong drink, a prescription, an illicit narcotic, outrageous sex, a trip to mass, exercise, or just a breath of fresh air. Anything to provide an instantaneous moment of satisfaction." In this series, there's nothing like a sugar rush to refresh your mind.
Trip Dandies Imagine life with no worries. Days filled with only time for fine food and couture, physical grooming and social interaction. The nights filled with love, lust, and life on the edge. The most important aspect of your existence is the luxurious persona in which you portray. The dandy lives such an existence. Striving for personal gratification through material things and possessions. Life is beautiful and without worry. Some would view this personality as narcissistic, but the dandy does not care. In fact he will raise his glass to narcissism and blow smoke in the direction of anyone passing judgment. The Dandy is quite content being showered in fleur de liz, exquisite jewelry, silks and fur. The upper echelon of bohemian lifestyle. The dandy.
In my series Trip Dandies I wanted to create a modern day dandy and put him in situations of encouragement, strength and triumph. His main priority being himself. The Dandy is self-indulged and seemingly making love to hismirror image. Devouring himself. Caressing and hugging himself. Intoxicated by his own sheer beauty. Tripping on his own ego. Spinning round and round in a luxurious, endless high of self-gratification. Splash yourself in Chanel and come trip with Dandy. He may just like yourscent. What? He didn’t notice you? Don’t fret my dear! Dandy doodle dooooo. -CMP

Development is inevitable. It is instinctual human behavior to produce and reproduce ideas to leave behind for future generations. We develop our minds, our lives and our surroundings. In my development as an artist it is only natural to be inspired by the progression of the city where I produce my thoughts and work. -Miami.
It can seem like a dream world. I wake up and look out the window to see another high rise that I didn’t notice the day before. The building I saw last week has been demolished and in its former place stands a sales center for an ultra lux condo project that will scrape the sky with steel and glass. Mini cities within the city are popping up in every nook and cranny. Develop Mental. It is a mind trip of urban proportions. I am being engulfed in cranes and concrete. I am inside the bubble of ideas and the boom of something unbelievable and surreal. How big will this bubble expand before something gives? How much weight can the bubble hold? I feel miniature compared to my surroundings. The skyline lights up like a force of giant robots moving west out of the water. The brigade multiplies seemingly with each capture in the camera and tomorrow there will be more.
