| I am an artist that portrays realistic imagery in my paintings. Most of my work is created in my studio from numerous photos and notes I have collected from places I have lived, people I have met, family and friends, or places I have visited. I work primarily in pastel, although I will dabble in watercolor, marker, and pen on occasion My artwork has been exhibited in Tucson and Phoenix as well as published online for The Artist's Magazine. I am a member of the Tucson Pastel Society and have won several awards for my artwork. I attended the Art Center, Tucson where I quickly found out I was a fine artist, not a graphic artist. My skills in fine art have been predominantly God-given and self-taught. I began professionally as a pastel artist working on portraits. I have also attended several workshops. My goal in my portraits is to capture the spirit of my subject, while creating a convincing likeness.
