| I live on Whidbey Island in Washington state, and work in garden maintenance. I have always been a doodler and always enjoyed drawing and making things, but I like to do it my way. I come up with an idea, sometimes draw it with pencil on a canvas or paper, and then just paint it the way I want, usually with nice, bright colors. I have always loved colors, and feel fortunate that I get to work outside every day and see the best, truest colors in the flowers, bark, leaves, insects, etc. that are part of my job. I paint because I enjoy making an idea "come to life" and because it gives me a chance to do something very different than my "day job." I may have times when I am not in the mood to paint, but as long as I am still getting ideas, I will eventually try to make them happen with paint. |
