| "Born in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. Like my father I had always painted in oils and acrylics until the advent of digital painting. This now combines my love of photography with my painting. Having discovered digital artwork late in life and now retired I devote a lot of time to this exciting way of painting”.
Ideas and Inspiration
Ideas and inspirations come from just about anywhere, from trees to the light of an evening sunset or morning sunrise.
My most recent landscape paintings draw there inspiration from my local landscape. When I first moved to the Borders region I found the landscapes captivating. So I have concentrated on these for the moment.
My affinity towards the effect that sunlight can have has always been with me, the light and texture that it gives breathes life into scenery. Clouds are another of my fascinations, forever changing and glorious whether dark and sultry or bright and shiny.
